Burger Stop: Hayrides In The Park

In 1993 the Family owned and operated “Burger Stop” in Layton was committed to providing the best quality locally grown fresh food, served quickly in a friendly environment. This is still the mission statement today…25 years later!

The journey was challenging, but rewarding, the family was committed to being more than just another “Burger Place”. Know for its Nostalgic environment, and the support the local classic auto clubs and Hot Rodders of Utah, the family dedicated its place of business and time to those groups who provided programs that were giving back to those people and organizations less fortunate. The monthly classic auto shows in April through October are very well attended and FREE to both the car enthusiast and public.

Each monthly event has a theme and the fun and participation from the local community has been a contributing factor to the success of this local “Mom & Pop” Family owned business for 25 years.

In December of 1993, the family made a decision to provide horse drawn hay wagon rides departing from “Burger Stop” and down the road through the beautiful display of very unique Christmas lights in Layton City. The sale of the tickets and proceeds are donated to local charity groups each year.

Fast forwarding into 2017 and a quickly growing events, the Horses soon became worn out and a solution was needed to be found…The relationship with the car clubs proved to be the answer the family was looking for! Wasatch Rod’s & Customs ( a local car club) was always looking for how they could help those in need and raise funds to give back.

The family business has been working with Wasatch Rod’s and Custom’s  and Layton City since 1994 providing the event now know as “Hay Rides in the Park”.  Today, these groups and their dedicated commitment to provide and give back to others who are less fortunate have provided over $100,000 in fundraising, through the ticket sales, for the “Hay Rides in the Park” and donated ALL proceeds to different groups and organizations of choice through the years.
The Theobald family would like to express our deepest gratitude & thanks to the many people, groups, and patrons who have supported our cause and business the past 25 years. It’s because of all of you is why we can provide for others. A special thanks to JC Hackett, Wasatch Rod’s & Customs, and the copious amount of classic auto owners for sharing your time and services and talents to make this happen for 25 years.

 “The heart that gives…gathers.
